British Library Euston London
We have picked up a new job and a new client in one go. Work has just started on the extension to the British Library in Euston with Sir Robert McAlpine as the main contractor. We are going to do the Groundworks and RC frame. The building is quite a technical challenge as the basement contains some special sound and vibration proof concrete rooms, which are independent of the main structure.
James Bourke is Contracts Manager and Liam Hoyne is Project Manager and Kitt Townsend the QS.
Octavia Housing White City
We have just had a confirmation from Wates that we have been successful in securing the enabling works package for the regeneration of Tavy Bridge (Thamesmead West). This package is the first of many on this project which has a construction phase of around 8 years. We will be hoping to secure all the Groundworks and RC Frames for all of the structures, which includes Shops, Flats, and a Library. This will become an important anchor job for us, providing work-flow and continuity for a good few years.
Ian Boiling is Contracts Manager, Pete Mulry-Project Manager & Ray Egan is QS.
University of East London Student Accommodation
We have just received the letter of intent for the enabling works
for the Student Accommodation at UEL just down the road from the
existing UEL project. The works entail the site set-up for HBG as
well as some piling mat, crawler crane bases and dock edge protection
for the permanent works. We will be hoping to secure the follow-on
Groundworks and RC Frame packages which kick off mid September.
Richard Gregson is Contracts Manager, Joe Farrington-Project Manager & Colin
Hirst is the QS.
Silken Hotel Aldwych
We have started work on a complicated basement construction situated on The Strand. The Project involves Contig piled walls, temporary works to support the existing Façade of an early 1900’s building and support to the existing basement walls. We are working right alongside Cantillon Demolition in this city centre building on The Aldwych.
